最近有点忙,先把老大所写的一些片断搬上来。
Sigh, I do miss the old school days at the international school in Czech Republic. One of the most things that make me remember is the good old days at the reading corner. It’s not like the lame old reading corners l meet in Malaysia school, the ones with plain old tables with books on it at a corner, it’s much more relaxable and comfortable . We could sit down while reading, lean on the wall while reading, lie down while reading, or anything while reading, it’s our freedom, as long we aren’t doing anything silly or stupid.
The bad news is, we can’t read the books during recess, because it’s prohibited. We have to go out and play like a healthy kid, unless if you’re sick and caught a flu, you’ll have the special permission to stay at the class.
Teacher Jason entered our class with a thick book while we were minding our own business, like chatting and improving our paragraph that our teacher had told us to do. He then called all of us to gather at the reading corner and told us that he is going to introduce us a book called “Holes”. At my first sight, I thought this is going to be another boring book like the book “Little Women”. But for once, I was wrong. When our teacher read the first few pages of that book, I knew this is going to be one of my favourite books in life.
Our teacher read us that book whenever we finished our work, and he read to us about 2~3 chapters a day. But I wasn’t satisfied. I wanted our teacher to read more of this book to us every day, so I did my work faster......
